PLAYWRIGHT / SOLO PERFORMER
Karen Trott is the playwright and solo performer of Guitar Lessons: The Springhill Singing Disaster, which the New York Times’ Ben Brantley called “her eminently likeable, painfully funny show.” Originally directed by Norman Rene, Springhill was developed at the Long Wharf Theatre, premiered Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons and later at Actors Theatre of Louisville. After receiving a Drama Desk Award nomination for Best Solo Play, Springhill began an Off-Broadway commercial run at the 47th Street Theatre, directed by Lonny Price.

Springhill was subsequently produced at the La Jolla Playhouse, also under the direction of Lonny Price.
